💫Because I respect and believe in the power of a woman, I’ve decided to honor women in 2019 and beyond on my blog page. There will be one woman “embraced” at least once per week. There will be “no biases”, and the women will be representatives of all walks of life from all over the world who contribute “positively to family, community, city, state, country, and therefore the world.

{Photo Image: Internet Retrieved}MAYOR VIOLA “VI” LYLES is the mayor of Charlotte, NC (affectionately known as the Queen City), the 17th most populous city in the United States. “She’s been serving as the 59th mayor since 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, Lyles was a member of the Charlotte City Council before taking office as mayor.” -Wikipedia
People say that Vi Lyles is what Charlotte needed as a mayor. The Charlotte Observer published an article in December 2018 about her. Republicans, such as N.C. Senators Dan Bishop and Andy Dulin, describe Mayor Lyles as “graceful” and look forward to working with her. Mayor Lyles certainly wants to achieve goals for her city. She’s always hard at work relationship-building with other leaders, increasing employment and business opportunities, cultivating productive partnerships and most importantly, she wants a safe Charlotte.

Mayor Lyles has been wholeheartedly supporting the citizens of Charlotte since her first day in office. As a former council member, she’s had an up close and personal look at what the city needs and how to serve its citizens. The metropolitan area is home of seven Fortune 500 companies. There are several professional teams; namely, Hornets, Panthers, Knights, Checkers and more. Major events are hosted by Charlotte throughout the calendar year. There are endless reasons to not only visit Charlotte but consider making Charlotte area home. There has been exponential growth and Mayor Lyles has an agenda to give people, from around the world, more reasons and incentives to bring business to her city, and she’ll continue to make business decisions to attract tourists.

Mayor Lyles said, “The best thing about the city is the people.” The mayor has a large city to lead and standing with her, the citizens of Charlotte have faith in her abilities. “I want to make it as easy as possible for citizens to request a meeting with me...” That statement alone says a lot about the gem that the people of Charlotte has as their mayor.
Mayor Lyles has four children. Her husband passed away in 2015.
