HONORING WOMEN SERIES: COACH DAWN STALEY 🏀

💫Because I respect and believe in the power of a woman, I’ve decided to honor women in 2019 and beyond on my blog page. There will be one woman “embraced” on my page at least once per week. There will be “no biases”, and the women will be representatives of all walks of life from all over the world who contribute “positively” to their family, community, city, state, country and therefore the world.

“DAWN MICHELLE STALEY is an American basketball Hall of Fame player and coach. Staley is a three-time Olympic gold medalist, and was elected to carry the United States flag at the opening ceremony of the 2004 Summer Olympics.”  -Wikipedia 

Coach Staley has accolades longer than a basketball court.  She’s not a “bench warmer”—far from it. Coach Staley has broken several records and also received a host of impressive awards. As a player, she was noted as: one of the top WNBA players in history, ABL All-Star, WNBA All-Star, WBCA Player Of The Year Award, Honda Sports Award, Naismith College Player Of The Year, UBWSA Women’s National Player Of The Year, Member of the Basketball Hall Of Fame.

🏀 No doubt Coach Staley has accomplished much as a player, coach and especially now as the Head Coach for the University of South Carolina Women’s Basketball aka Lady Gamecocks. An unforgettable milestone among many for the Gamecocks is Coach Staley leading her team to the NCAA Women’s National Basketball Championship in 2017!  Columbia, SC couldn’t be any prouder of the Gamecocks! Coach Staley has brought a new game to the Gamecocks repertoire. Fans are loving Coach Staley’s style and relentless, leadership character to guide her team to the top.  Go Coach Staley and the Lady Gameocks!
